Vix's innocent look turned a bit devilish. He knew that all too well and had seen it used on many a men. Those were the kind of men that came in here night after night hoping to catch just one more glimpse of the girl behind the bar. When they did though, she usually blew them off. Vix had the reputation of being the kind of girls to love them and leave them in just a heart beat. Maybe that was why Dan wouldn't let himself get close to her? Sure, he'd flirt, talk to her, but he'd never really give up when she was around. He couldn't let himself become just another notch in her bedpost, a little boy that was wrapped around her finger like a bit of string.
The innocent look returned as she wrapped her slender arms around his neck and came closer. Though he'd never admit it, her little pout drove him crazy. "Trust me, I was never one to doubt that, girlie..." he said with a smirk. As he pulled her just a bit closer, there was a few hoots and hollers from a rowdy group at the end of the bar, "Now look, you got the customers all crazy-like..."

He probably knew her better than anyone. Vix got around, always tempting men and giving them peeps of skin but that was as far as she went at work. Her carefree attitude allowed her to move on easily to the next man as soon as she was bored with them. Sure, now there were probably enough men to start their own little gang devoted to how she broke their sorry little hearts but that didn't stop her. Vix grinned as Dan spoke, leaning in a little to just briefly rest her forehead against his, taking her hat off and letting her long black hair tumble down and hit her back.
" 'Course I get them crazy-like, Dan." She grinned and brushed her lips against his teasingly before backing away just a little bit. Vix looked over towards the rowdy bunch and winked at him, waving to them for a moment before focusing her attention back on Dan. "It's m' job and 's me we're talkin' aboutā¦"

Daniel grinned as she placed her forehead on his own. He didn't think they could be any closer unless they were actually one person. Vix proved him wrong though by leaning up just a bit more, her delicate lips teasing his own by just lightly brushing against them. It took every ounce of strength to stop himself from grabbing her and having his way. Still, there was that little voice in the back of his head that kept reminding him just what she did. This was Vix Lee, not some little girl. She knew how to toy with boys and though she wasn't doing to him, what she did to those other boys, it was close enough to stop him. That little voice in his head though was the only thing stopping him and though he'd force himself, it kept getting fainter and harder for him to hear it lately.
"And you're oh-so-good at it, right?" he asked, letting his calm composure take back over, allowing the smirk to cross onto his face again. The moment was over and he was sure that though it would happen a thousand more times, nothing would happen with that little voice in his mind. Though Daniel had a feeling that maybe she had one as well for whatever reason.

Vix couldn't believe she had just kissed him. She was still in a close proximity of his lips still. She could felt the heat radiating off of him and could envision the skin underneath his shirt which she would just love to run her fingertips over and kiss. She gently caressed his face, grinning as she did so. Dan was definitely different from most men she had encountered. She felt no need to just press up against him and tease him along and then leave him hanging.
"O' course I'm oh-so-good at it!" Vix smirked back at him and pulled away, getting rid of the closeness all in one step. Her little voice of reason finally won, though it appeared to of been on the losing side for the longest of times and was almost thought as dead.

Her fingers on his skin sent shivers up Dan's spine and little sparks tingled on his skin. He resisted shuddering at the mere idea of how those shock would feel all over him. That wasn't allowed, the girl in front of him was off limits...at least that's what half of his brain was telling him. The other half was screaming at him to plant one on her, to be like those other boys, to spend a night with her, even if it meant getting your heart broken. Still, she stepped back, proving that she did indeed have some little voice guiding her thoughts. With the little show she'd just given him, you definitely would have thought otherwise.
"Not gonna argue..." he said with a grin, turning away from her, the moment gone just as quickly as it had come. Pouring a beer for a man down at the other end, he glanced up and found that two of the other girls were watching him with raised eyebrows. Apparently Vix's sudden interest in him had sparked the curiosity of two others. They were young though and when he met their gazes, they giggled and gossiped to each other all over again. They were the kind of girls he hired for their innocence because they had no where else to go, the kind of girls who got embarrassed by the way a girl like Vix could carry herself. Dan had no interest in little girls and really that's what they were, they didn't know the real world.

Vix stretched out her arms and moved towards Dan, humming quietly before pressing up against him from behind and whispering into his ear. "Do ya need me to get changed int' my dress now or can I stay comfortable for a little while longer, darlin'?" She nipped at his ear affectionately, wrapping her arms around him from behind. Hah. Take that, little girls.
If Vix was childish enough, she would've stuck her tongue out at them but she thankfully chose to be mature and just assert her position.

Dan served a few more drinks and the girls just kept giggling. He'd admit that it was a bit fun to tease them, winking their way every once in a while would start up a whole 'nother round of giggling and smiles, etc. They were young, it would never become anything, but just for a bit, it was fun.
After a bit, they would glance at him with knowing looks. They thought that he liked them, that he'd take one of them out. That really wasn't the case, but he'd let them think it, if it made them happy. Vix on the other hand wasn't going to let another thought like that cross their minds. Making another quick shot, he sent it down the bar when suddenly a body pressed up against his back. It was petite, yet strong and he guessed in an instant who it was. The girl's voice in his ear just confirmed his suspecions. As she nipped playfully at sensitive skin and glanced at the other waitresses, Daniel just grinned. Her arms snaked around him and he glanced back at her.
"You can stay in that for a bit, girlie. And Vix..." Her arms still wrapped around him, Dan managed to turn so that they were facing one another. Leaning down to her ear he finished his statement, "That green-eyed monster looks good on you." He had no problem calling her out, probably cause he knew she'd deny it till the cows came home. It didn't matter though, there was a look in her eyes and he could read her like a book sometimes.

The giggling girls were really bothering her. She couldn't really think of why but their annoying giggling and the way they would look at Dan made her want to choke them. Dan was someone that only she could mess around with, no one else. Vix smirked at the girls knowingly before looking up at him. "Thank ya very much, darlin'." She leaned up and pecked his lips lightly before quirking an eyebrow at his comment.
"..No clue what you're talking about, handsomeā¦" She pulled away but continued to stick close to his body. "I look absolutely terrible in green."

He heard the sultry voice of Vix and nodded to her only to catch sight of Miss Carpenter. A smile slide into place as he slowly, casually made his way over to where she sat, speaking to Vix and the barman. He lowerd himself onto the stool next to her. "Evening," he spoke, tipping his hat to her and then beaming at Vix. "Nice t' see ya, too, bright eyes." He looked Vix up and down. "Love the look."
As soon as that was out of his system. Dale returned his gaze to the object of his current obsession. This happened every so often. A young, lovely thing would catch his eye and he just couldn't pull himself away. He knew it was dangerous, knew that he could get himself in a load of trouble if he didn't watch himself. But he never seemed to care.
"Miss Carpenter," he said softly, "you was just who I was looking for. Wanted to make sure y' were alright. Was a mighty fine fall you took earlier and," he allowed his hand to move, tucking some hair behind her ears, "I'd hate t' think of ya bein' hurt." Smiling brilliantly, he bowed his head a little. "Don't think I got 'round to introducing myself. Name o' Dale."

Cece's face was burning by the time Dale saw her and came sat in the adjacent stool. She smiled, nonetheless, because she couldn't take him off his mind. Hell, it'd been half the reason she was in the bar in the first place.
But she couldn't believe that the young man had gone out of his way to come and see if she was okay. Stuff like that didn't happen to people like Cecil. Her face turning redder than before, though, gave her true feelings away as the young man tucked a strand of lose hair behind her ear. "I appreciate ev'rythin', mister"--she still couldn't bring herself to call him by his real name--"'M awrigh' now. Thanks to you." She beamed, flashing her white teeth at Dale.
Cece hesitated, rocking in her seat a bit impatiently before she asked, "Doin' anythin' tonight, then....Dale?"

The little smirk that Vix sent to the girls didn't go unnoticed. The moment the look hit them, they scoffed a bit, retreating for now, but determined to return and continue this whole battle. Dan had also caught it and a smirk of his own hit his face. He'd never seen the saloon girl like this, but he had to admit that it was entertaining and just a bit warming. He didn't know if it was just that she basically thought of him as her property or she was really jealous, either way the attention worked for him. And as she thanked him with that grin, her soft lips meeting his own for another brief moment, Daniel realized that he didn't mind those too much either.
Then came that denial as she pulled away from him. He couldn't help, but grin like a Cheshire cat at the way Vix was acting. Really, this was a totally new emotion to see her in. Dan was flattered that she was acting this way because of some silly girls and him, but at the same time there was this feeling in his stomach. This feeling that he should kiss her and hug her and tell her that he really didn't care what those girls thought about anything they did. Still, that was something couples that were in serious sorts with each other did and that was far from the relationship that the two of them shared.

Vix knew she had won that small battle for now. A satisfied smirk appeared on her face before she just played with a few wild strands of Dan's hair. She bit down on her lower lip, trying to hide a smile as she just continued to stay by him. In all her flirting, Vix was most serious when she flirted with Dan. She made sure she didn't overstep her boundaries too much but there was always times where she would push the lines just so.
She knew she enjoyed the brief kisses she gave him. She enjoyed the feel of his lips against hers, no matter how brief their lips met. Vix enjoyed the way she just seemed to be the right size for him. He felt extremely comfortable in her embrace and that wasn't something she could say to any man. Though she would never admit it, Vix had fallen for Dan pretty hard. Then again, even SHE didn't know she had fallen and how hard.
