Name: Séamus Dubhán Ó Dochartaigh. Anglicized to Seamus Doherty by an immigration official.
Nicknames: Sea, though most people just call him Seamus.
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Sexuality: Straight
Personality: Seamus is a taciturn man with a violent streak and a certain pragmatic amorality. Most of the time he's laid back and quiet, enjoying things like tending to animals, people-watching, eating, going for exploratory walks, and drinking whiskey -- though if he does much of the latter, things can get out of hand very quickly. He never really went to school so he's illiterate, but he's physically strong and knows how to take care of himself in a fight. A great point of pride for him is his Irishness; even when it causes him trouble he exaggerates his accent, defends his Catholicism despite not following most of its teachings, refuses to cut his bright red hair, and makes a point of enjoying typically Irish things like potatoes and the aforementioned whiskey.
Appearance: About 5'11", well-built, broad-shouldered. Green eyes, red hair that he's always shaking out of his face. (I'll have a picture up soon.)
Occupation: Ranch hand. Very much subject to change.
Family: He left his parents, six siblings, and five nieces and nephews at home. He doesn't talk about them much.
Short History: Born to a large lower class family in Ireland, Seamus realized that he had few opportunities in life. His older brothers were going to inherit the family sheep farm and there was nothing left for the troublesome younger brother, even if he had been willing to accept their help. At sixteen he left home and boarded a ship for America. Driven by the promise of wealth and freedom the young man gradually made his way out west, taking whatever work he could get, living on as little as he could manage, and never letting himself be tied down.
